Some things do not come easy. You can scour your world and look for the next story to find you, but alas, it feels as though you will never write another word that is any good.
Push outside of the comfortable realm you are sitting in and it will come for you, finding you in a vulnerable position, wrapping its arms around your psyche and pummelling your senses with its prowess.
To be adaptable is to read that book that finds you in the library, that movie with a genre that does not pique your interest or that person you chat to on public transport where you will learn life’s twist of turmoil.
That is when the story will find you and not one moment before.
I live in Melbourne with my family. I have been researching history since childhood. It may have started at the NGV in our beautiful city or in one of the old mansions in the prominent surrounding suburbs, but I have always loved the grace and grandeur of old Melbourne town. I have been fortunate to travel some parts of the world and visit prominent historical places. I am an author and a mother and the lessons of life's highs and lows haven't surpassed me. Learning more from the lows is what drives my writing and this is the page to share the need to write rather than the want.
